The Value of Black Fathers
LIVE Stream Event – June 12th at 10:00 am
The aim is to educate the community on reasons to honor good fathers and to promote celebrating them for what they contribute to their children, their families and their communities, while correcting the myth that Black Fatherhood is dead.
We urge families to watch the panel discussion together and to submit questions for the panelists. We will encourage youth and parenting partners to nominate fathers for a Good Dad Award which will be announced the following Saturday (June 19). Youth will be provided other ideas for how to celebrate their dads on Fathers’ Day.
Pastor Eli Williams, President of Urban Light Ministries will moderate the panel discussion. Panelists will include Glenn Harris, Assistant Director of Prevention, ODVN; Calvin Williams, President of Lucian Families, Inc.; and, Muqit Sabur, Founder and Leader of the Center for Fatherhood and Family Dynamics.
