Springfield, OH, April 25, 2018 – Today Urban Light Ministries CEO Eli Willams announced the addition of four new members to its Board of Trustees.   The following individuals are now voting members on the board and include Tyler Banion, Bruce Stapleton, Mark Sturgeon, and Jay Weygandt.

Tyler Banion – Tyler is born and raised and currently resides in South Charleston, Ohio. He has been married 8 years to his wife Holly and they have 3 children.  He is an Account Executive for R+L Carriers Inc.  

Bruce Stapleton – Bruce holds an MBA and has over 35 years of corporate management experience including starting his own wellness company.  He is currently employed as a professor at Franklin University.  He has been married for 35 years and has four children.

 Mark Sturgeon – Mark is born and raised in Springfield, OH.  He has been married for 23 years to his wife Jennifer.  He has four children and five grandchildren.  He is employed as a Sales Representative at The Thomas Tape & Supply Company.

Jay Weygandt - After 30 years of managing Logos Christian Bookstore and 9 years in music and video distribution, Jay is now an AmeriCorps-VISTA volunteer serving at Think Tank Inc and the Clark County Jail Chaplaincy. Jay has been married to Virginia for 47 years, has 2 sons and 2 grandsons.

Melissa Brown – Melissa holds a Master of Social Work degree from Ohio State University and a B.S. in Social Work from Cedarville University. She is currently an Associate Professor at Cedarville University.

 Stephen Massey – Stephen is the Chief Operations Officer of Citilookout Counseling Center and the Director of the Ohio Attorney General’s Trauma Recovery Center Crime Victims Advocacy Program. He has a Master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

The Sonshine Clubs 25th Anniversary celebration will be a time of fellowship, memories and music as they honor God and the people who have been a part of the children’s program.

Over the past quarter century, tens of thousands of children have been impacted by the weekly after school program in multiple locations throughout Clark County. Some of the parents, participants and volunteers will share their stories. The Sonshine Club Band will provide live music.

Springfield, Ohio, June 6, 2018: Urban Light Ministries announces the winning entries for the second annual Clark County Fatherhood Awards.

The aim of the Awards is to recognize the significant role fathers play in their children’s well-being and development and to raise awareness of the value of fathers in the family and the community. It identifies and honors outstanding fathers for their exceptional commitment to raising their children and/or for their exemplary contribution to the development of children in the community. The winners, chosen by an independent panel are (in alphabetical order):
• Evan Hellwig
• Kyle Koehler
• Stephen Massey

Evan Hellwig has four adult children. One of them is adopted from China. He was nominated by his pastor who stated: “Evan has demonstrated a faithful commitment to raising his children well.” Hellwig serves his spouse and children with excellence, while a Cedarville University professor and a pastor-elder at his church. He has “modeled faithfulness, integrity, humility, compassion and perseverance”, continued his pastor.

Kyle Koehler was nominated by his daughter – one of his five children. She wrote “He is a man of integrity, and a father of kindness, love, and humility”, who “…taught his children hard work, and encouraged their dreams.” Koehler is the Representative for the 79th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. He and his wife will celebrate their 30th anniversary in July.

Stephen Paul Massey is not only a doting dad to his youngest child. He also is a father-figure to his wife’s four children, mentors young men in the community, all while working as COO of Citi Lookout. According to his spouse and nominator, Stephen “works very hard at numerous things to provide and care for our family.” Yet, “he spends quality time” with all his children, she added.

The 2018 Clark County Fatherhood Awards will be presented Saturday, June 16th at 3:00 PM during the combined Juneteenth Celebration and FatherFest in Springfield. The award ceremony will take place in the entertainment tent.
